Tapeler® is a Patented Cotapaxi Product. Successful innovation and product design depends on trying lots of ideas (both the good ones and the bad ones). It takes courage and bold action. The willingness to experiment and try new things is vital. The first stage of any project is to understand the needs and desires of the client in terms of use, usability, and experience.

To address this vital stage of creating something new Cotapaxi will meet with the client to evaluate what is most important to them and their needs. A lot of time and money can be wasted solving the wrong problems, so a good initial brief is essential.

After the initial consultation; Cotapaxi’s Design Team’s process starts with the tried and true traditional method of sketching. It is in this stage of product design, that the broad concepts and aesthetic developments of the item are explored.

Less emphasis is placed on technical aspects, and more emphasis is placed on the visual, tactile, and overall coolness of the item. During the Design Process we want creativity to flow allowing us to develop products that ensure that WOW moment for your client they will associate with your brand.

It is at this point we will often discard, modify, and or combine the best ideas to arrive at some workable options. From these workable options we will move to the initial 3D renderings.

After the initial sketching the Design Team will start to concentrate on the more technical aspects of the product. Making sure the product will work and can be built during this stage will save a lot of time and money in later stages.

This is a process that usually requires considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive analysis and re-design. Now we can focus on the decoration and branding of the item. Working with our client and or their Ad Agency, Cotapaxi’s Design team goes to great lengths to enforce your Brand’s design guidelines.

Rapid Prototyping is the first step in turning your concept into reality. Using state-of-the-art rapid prototyping technology Cotapaxi can produce a Three-Dimensional representation of your product created out of a resin.

This stage is particularly helpful and the most economical way of fine-tuning your product. Making changes at this stage is still relatively easy and saves time and money when compared to making the same changes later during mold creation. This is also the first time you will hold a physical representation of your new concept! This is always a fun and exciting stage. At this point refinements and changes are made and another rapid prototype is created if necessary. If all is approved after this stage we will move on to mold development and production.

Tapeler® is a Patented Cotapaxi Product. Our rapid prototype instructions are then sent to the factory to begin the process of creating the molds for fully actualizing your concept. Once this process is completed, you will receive an actual sample of your product from the new mold. From here any final fine-tuning is completed and your product is ready for production!
